Hello and Happy Memorial Weekend!
This is a time for gathering with friends, enjoying food and fellowship. I’d like to say “thank you” to friends and my art collectors who have always been there supporting my creative process through so many years.
Over the past few months, there have been so much happening. Especially, since I took time & effort set up my largest work- the "Tapestry of Dreams" for the documentary made by Guangxi TV last December, meanwhile, some friends expressed the wish to see the original works, I have decided to do this open studio exhibition "Love it All" at my studio gallery.
The exhibition also includes 15 additional works in the Love Song Series. The reason I chose the theme "Love is ALL" is that, deep in my heart, I feel "love" is the essence of human existence. It is hard to imagine life without love. A few weeks ago, my beloved neighbor John Williams passed away suddenly at age of near 91. Our heart ached when we received the sad news. We had a great respect for him. He was a great example for us, a gentle person with a big heart filled with love for everyone. At his funeral, we were especially touched by the words of "love" from 1 Corinthians 13 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud", “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love". In my hometown, singing love songs has been a tradition for hundreds and even thousands of years. History proves- true love empower us; and love selflessly enrich our mind and uplifting our soul. Hence, the theme -“Love is ALL” to pay tribute to John. May love & peace be with us all!
